Dr. Mary Ann Gawelek is not only a donor and volunteer but also an advocate, demonstrating the meaning of LIVE UNITED.

"I advocate for community improvement everyday by supporting United Way's efforts to research the condition of women in the region, and by encouraging women to get directly involved in their community by serving on profit and not-for-profit boards.

I LIVE UNITED by advocating the issues most important to my United Way."

United Way 2-1-1

What is 2-1-1?

2-1-1 is the number to dial if you or someone you know does not know where to turn for help. By dialing 2-1-1, callers will be connected with a human service information and referral specialist trained to help assess the human service programs that best fit the needs of the individual and/or family seeking help. 2-1-1 is currently accessible in Westmoreland, Fayette and Allegheny Counties with plans to expand access throughout the Southwest PA region, beginning with Armstrong and Butler Counties. If you are unable to get connected by dialing 2-1-1 from your phone, 1-888-553-5778 can be used as an alternative.
